Guy Ritchie teams up with Jason Statham for Wrath Of Man!

For the first time in 15 years, Jason Statham and director Guy Ritchie team up for Wrath Of Man. It is based on the French film Le convoyeur. It features an all-star cast including Jason Statham, Holt McCallany, Jeffrey Donovan, Josh Hartnett, Niamh Algar, Laz Alonso, Scott Eastwood, and Eddie Marsan. You can watch this movie in theaters starting May 7th 2021.

Synopsis
A mysterious and wild-eyed new cash truck security guard (Jason Statham) surprises his coworkers during a heist in which he unexpectedly unleashes precision skills. The crew is left wondering who he is and where he came from. Soon, the marksman’s ultimate motive becomes clear as he takes dramatic and irrevocable steps to settle a score.
The last time we saw Statham and Ritchie team-up was in 2005’s Revolver. Before that, it was the 1990s hits Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch. Do not expect a movie remotely close to those. This film is darker and carries less dark humor, which may disappoint fans of Guy Ritchie. Wrath Of Man starts off slow but has a great cast that will keep your attention and entertained for almost 2 hours.
Fans of Statham and Ritchie will definitely want to watch Wrath Of Man!
Jason Statham never disappoints when he graces the screen, but the lack of a strong script and weak editing takes away from a possible masterful heist film. The timeline throughout the movie jumps around midway and can confuse audiences. The pacing is affected by those time jumps and the extended scenes that take place in the past. The overall runtime could have been trimmed by leaving out the multiple montage scenes that add no entertainment value. Despite a strong cast, Scott Eastwood, Jeffrey Donovan, Andy Garcia and, Josh Hartnett did not give us anything unique or memorable with their performances. I was most disappointed with Hartnett’s role and performance since he has been out of the spotlight for quite some time.
Jason Statham carries this film on his shoulders and proves how valuable he is as a lead actor. This movie is brutally violent and entertaining but you will have to wait until the fourth act for the most action packed scenes. It would have been nice to see this film not take itself too seriously but hopefully fans of Guy Ritchie will be satisfied.
Verdict
I give Wrath Of Man a 7 out of 10. You can watch Guy Ritchie’s Wrath Of Man in theaters beginning May 7th.
