Wolfgang Petersen was battling pancreatic cancer.

Director Wolfgang Petersen has passed away. He was 81 years old. Petersen had pancreatic cancer at died at his home in Brentwood, Los Angeles. He directed some of the biggest films throughout his career. Some of his top films were Das Boot, The NerverEnding Story, Air Force One, In The Line Of Fire, The Perfect Storm, and Troy. The German-born director worked with many big Hollywood stars such as Clint Eastwood, John Malkovich, Harrison Ford, Dustin Hoffman, Morgan Freemen, George Clooney, and dozens more.
