Wild Things hit theaters on March 20th, 1998.

The provocative film Wild Things was released twenty-five years ago today. It featured an impressive cast that included more than Neve Campbell and Denise Richards. The film also starred Matt Dillon, Kevin Bacon, Theresa Russell, Robert Wagner, and Bill Murray. It grossed $30 million on a $20 million budget. The 1998 cult film had a strong R rating for strong sexuality, nudity, language, and some violence. Director John McNaughton revealed that Dillon and Bacon’s characters were supposed to have an explicit and steamy scene, but it never occurred. Three sequels were released direct on video, Wild Things 2 (2004), Wild Things: Diamonds in the Rough (2005), and Wild Things: Foursome (2010). You can stream the original film on Prime Video.
Synopsis
When teen debutante Kelly (Denise Richards) fails to attract the attention of her hunky guidance counselor, Sam (Matt Dillon), she cries rape. It gnites a scandal that results in his arrest. Sam appeals to Ken (Bill Murray). He is a hack personal-injury lawyer who has never handled a case that a prop neck brace couldn’t help. Soon, a second victim, Suzie (Neve Campbell), comes forward, and Detective Duquette (Kevin Bacon) discovers that the unfolding case is far from what it seems.
