A fourth Riddick starring Vin Diesel is currently in development.

Since the first film, Pitch Black, almost 23 years ago, Vin Diesel will return for Riddick: Furya. This new big-screen event will see a return to Riddick’s homeworld Fans will finally get to explore Riddick’s genesis. The science-fiction action movie franchise that has captured the hearts of fans worldwide stars Diesel in the titular role of Richard B. Riddick. He is a ruthless and cunning antihero who uses his skills and wit to survive in a hostile and dangerous universe. Diesel shared the following image below!
The franchise consists of three movies: Pitch Black (2000), The Chronicles of Riddick (2004), and Riddick (2013). The first movie, Pitch Black, introduced audiences to the character of Riddick, a dangerous criminal who is being transported to a prison planet. However, when the ship crashes on a deserted planet, Riddick and the other survivors must fight for their lives against a swarm of deadly alien creatures that emerge during an eclipse.
The success of Pitch Black led to a sequel. It was titled The Chronicles of Riddick. It saw Riddick recruited by a group of warriors to save the universe from the evil Necromongers. The movie expanded on the franchise’s mythology. It introduced new characters and worlds while still maintaining the gritty, action-packed style of the original.
After a long hiatus, the franchise returned. 2013’s Rarte R film Riddick, sees the character stranded on a barren planet and forced to fight for survival against a group of deadly mercenaries. The movie harkens back to the style of Pitch Black, focusing on survival and intense action sequences.
