TRON 3: Everything We Know So Far

The cast of TRON: Ares continues to grow.

The third installment of the TRON franchise, titled ‘Ares,’ has announced some impressive cast additions. Jodie Turner-Smith, known for her role in Murder Mystery 2, and Greta Lee, acclaimed for her performance in Past Lives, are the latest names to join the project, as reported by Deadline. They will join confirmed actors Jared Leto and Evan Peters. Talented filmmaker Joachim Rønning taking on the director’s role. The script is by Jesse Wigutow and Jack Thorne. For TRON 3, the story is set around Leto’s character Ares, who transitions from the virtual to the real world. Meanwhile, Greta Lee’s character portrays a brilliant video game programmer and tech baron who protects her groundbreaking technology.

The first two films, TRON and TRON: Legacy, are iconic science fiction movies. They have captivated audiences with their groundbreaking visual effects and immersive storytelling. The original film, released in 1982, introduced viewers to a unique digital world where computer programs exist as sentient beings. Kevin Flynn, the protagonist, transports against his will into this digital realm and must navigate its perilous challenges to escape. Legacy, released in 2010, serves as both a sequel and a homage to its predecessor. It delves deeper into the virtual world, known as the Grid, and follows Sam Flynn, Kevin’s son, as he embarks on a quest to find his missing father. Both films masterfully blend stunning visuals with an electrifying soundtrack. They provide thought-provoking themes of technology, identity, and the blurred lines between the real and virtual worlds, creating an enduring legacy in the realm of science fiction cinema.
