This upcoming film is part of Prime Video’s partnership with Blumhouse Television. At the center of this movie is Kiernan Shipka. She will take on the role of the charismatic and fearless scream queen, Jamie Hughes. Her performance promises to make Jamie a new favorite among horror enthusiasts. The film also boasts an impressive ensemble cast. It features Julie Bowen, Olivia Holt, Randall Park, Lochlyn Munro, Charlie Gillespie, and Liana Liberato.
Director Nahnatchka Khan steps into the horror genre for the first time.
She is known for her work on “Always Be My Maybe” and “Fresh Off the Boat.” Khan will be adding a fresh perspective to the classic slasher trope. “Totally Killer” will offer a unique twist by combining time travel with 1980s nostalgia, providing audiences with a captivating and outrageous experience. It will debut on Prime Video on October 6th.
This film is a chilling journey to the past. It revolves around the infamous “Sweet Sixteen Killer” and a new victim, portrayed by Jamie (Kiernan Shipka). Ignoring her mother’s (Julie Bowen) warnings, Jamie encounters the masked maniac on Halloween night, setting off a pulse-pounding series of events. As she flees for her life, an accidental time-travel experience sends her back to 1987, the year of the original killings. This time-bending twist forces Jamie to confront the unfamiliar and outrageous culture of the 1980s. In her quest to survive and end the killer’s reign of terror, she teams up with her teenage mother, played by Olivia Holt. Together, they embark on a thrilling journey to take down the masked murderer once and for all while navigating the challenges and quirks of the past.
