Top Gun: Maverick has impressive 4-day Memorial Day Weekend opening.

After 36 years did sequel to Top Gun is finally here. The original movie made its debut in 1986 and starred Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer. Maverick, the Top Gun sequel, was released in theaters on May 27th and over Memorial Day weekend, has made $160+ Million. Its current global box-office total is $300,014,980. After the pandemic pushed its initial 2020 release, delivering multiple delays, this is Tom Cruise’s best opening weekend ever. Top Gun: Maverick has the third-best domestic opening of the year. Synopsis

After more than thirty years of service as one of the Navy’s top aviators, Pete “Maverick” Mitchell (Tom Cruise) is where he belongs. He is pushing the envelope as a courageous test pilot and dodging the advancement in rank that would ground him. When he finds himself training a detachment of Top Gun graduates for a specialized mission the likes of which no living pilot has ever seen, Maverick encounters Lt. Bradley Bradshaw (Miles Teller), call sign: “Rooster,” the son of Maverick’s late friend and Radar Intercept Officer Lt. Nick Bradshaw, aka “Goose.”
