Phoebe Mary Waller-Bridge is behind the new Tomb Raider series.

THR is reporting that a Tomb Raider series and film are in development. Based on the popular video game franchise, the live-action series will make Amazon its home. Phoebe Waller-Bridge will write the script. She is an actress and writer best known for Fleabag, Killing Eve, and Solo and will star alongside Harrison Ford in Indiana Joens and The Dial of Destiny. Tomb Raider made its debut for PC in 1996, introducing the world to Lara Croft. The following year it would be made available for PlayStation and Sega Saturn. The first live-action adaptation starred Angelina Jolie in 2001 and spawned a direct sequel in 2003. The franchise would get rebooted with a new movie starring Alicia Vikande in 2018.
