THOR: Love and Thunder opens at the top spot.
THOR: Love and Thunder starring Chris Hemsworth, opened over the weekend at the top spot. In just three days, it has made $302,000,000 globally. This is the best domestic opening of any THOR film bringing in $123 million. 2017’s Ragnarok opening weekend domestically brought it $122,744,989. Minions: The Rise of Gru came in second over the weekend. It brought it $45.6 Million, putting its global total to $400 Million. Love and Thunder is the 4th Thor film in the MCU and, in addition to Hemsworth, stars Christian Bale, Tessa Thompson, and Natalie Portman. Read our Movie Review.
Synopsis
The God of Thunder is on a journey, unlike anything he’s ever faced. He is on a search for self-discovery. But THOR’s retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher. Gorr seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, he enlists the help of King Valkyrie, Korg, and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster. To Thor’s surprise, Jane inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty THOR. Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.
