The Last Of Us Finale Draws In 8.2 Million Viewers

The Last of Us season 1 concludes with episode 9.

The Last of Us aired its ninth and final episode last night. Not to anyone’s surprise, it has set another rating high. It delivered 8.2 million viewers across HBO Max and linear telecasts. This is based on Nielsen and first-party data. The series is averaging 30.4 million viewers across its first six episodes. Episode 1 approached 40 million viewers in the U.S. Based on the popular PlayStation video game, the series stars  Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie. It was just renewed for a second season.

Synopsis

20 years after modern civilization was destroyed. Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal and heartbreaking journey as they both must traverse the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.
