Denzel Washington is back as Robert McCall in the final chapter of The Equalizer. Antoine Fuqua directs the third installment. Dakota Fanning and David Denman star alongside Washington. The franchise consists of two movies, released in 2014 and 2018, and a television series that premiered in 2021. The films were both commercial successes, grossing over $381 million worldwide, and received generally positive reviews for their intense action sequences, thrilling plotlines, and Washington’s performance as McCall. The television series has also been well-received for its compelling characters and gripping storylines. The third and final film will be in theaters on September 1st, 2023. Watch the trailer below!
Synopsis
Since giving up his life as a government assassin, Robert McCall (Denzel Washington) has struggled to reconcile the horrific things he’s done in the past and finds a strange solace in serving justice on behalf of the oppressed. Surprisingly, he finds himself at home in Southern Italy and discovers local crime bosses control his new friends. As events turn deadly, McCall knows what he has to do: become his friends’ protector by taking on the mafia.
