The Devil All The Time – Movie Review (Spoiler Free)

The Devil All The Time is streaming on Netflix

The Devil All The Time has been on my radar since I saw that the all-star cast includes Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Bill Skarsgard, and Sebastian Stan. Despite such A-listers known from family-friendly films, this movie is for mature audiences, as it is Rated-R for violence/bloody image, graphic nudity, sex-related content, and language.

Synopsis

In Knockemstiff, Ohio and its neighboring backwoods, sinister characters, an unholy preacher, a twisted couple, and a crooked sheriff, converge around a young Arvin Russell as he fights the evil forces that threaten him and his family.

This movie surrounds itself around men of religion and their violent and sick behavior. It is an eye-opener about the abuse of faith in a small-town setting. Despite being a very long movie, the dark and deranged story will draw you in. The timeline does jump around but connects with the characters that are confronted by their demons.

Tom Holland is the lead in this movie and will impress you with his mid-west boyish charm. The surprise performance comes from Robert Pattinson, who steals the scenes as a charismatic preacher. This southern gothic tale which is based on Donald Ray Pollock novel of the same name will test your patience but is a compelling narrative.

Verdict

I give The Devil All The Time an 8/10 as it showcases the incredible talent of our future Batman and current Spider-Man who both have a bright and long future.
