The Adam Project – Movie Review

The Adam Project starring Ryan Reynolds is now streaming on Netflix.

The Adam Project Movie Review

The Adam Project is the latest collaboration between Ryan Reynolds and director Shawn Levy. They worked previously together on Free Guy, and it was just announced that Levy will be the director of Deadpool 3. The film also stars Zoe Saldana, Mark Ruffalo, and Jennifer Garner.

Synopsis

Reynolds plays Adam Reed. He is a wounded time traveler from 2050 who has ventured into the past on a rogue rescue mission. He is on a search for his wife Laura(Zoe Saldana). She is the woman he loves, who got lost in the time-space continuum under mysterious circumstances. When Adam’s ship gets damaged, he is sent spiraling back to 2022. The only place he knows from this era of his life: home.

The Adam Project is an entertaining sci-fi popcorn flick that barely touches the surface of time traveling. Most of the movie’s plot is mashed together ideas from famous films that came before it. The most enjoyable part is the banter between Reynolds and his younger self, played by Walker Scobell. Despite an interesting premise and fantastic cast, The Adam Project falls a little flat. It is another sci-fi movie you will forget about after the weekend.

Verdict

I give The Adam Project 3 out of 5 stars. It is a family-friendly film with a handful of moving moments.

Rating: 3 out of 5.
