Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is available on EA Play
Is Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order good?
Not for me. This isn’t going to be a popular opinion, but Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order can eat a bag of farts. It should have been named Star Wars: Dark Souls and after just three days of playing I had enough. I uninstalled Star Wars Dark Souls faster than you could say “Jar Jar Binks ruined the best Star Wars Movie.” I don’t want to get off track but the Darth Maul Duel of the Fates fight and Podracing scenes are the best minutes of Star Wars screen time throughout nine and a half (I’m looking at you Rogue One) mediocre movies.
What Does It do well?
With dope force powers, an intriguing story, and tons of upgradeable skills in your skill tree, Star Wars: Dark Souls has all the makings of a great game, not to mention Star Wars: Dark Souls is “free” on EA Play now, which makes it a very decent deal. I won’t forget to mention lightsaber customization, which is obviously always completely baller, but the customization in Jedi Academy and Knights of the Old Republic was much more dope, especially since KOTOR had you enter the Force Sensitive caves and collect your own saber crystals.
What does it do poorly?
The maps are poorly designed, as they are much more labyrinth than compelling narrative adventure lacking any forward driven map design. Getting turned around is easy, healing is limited, and resting respawns all monsters in the zone, sound familiar Dark Souls fans? Anyone familiar with Dark Souls knows all about this type of combat system, dodge and wait. Eventually, force powers will make small enemies easier to deal with but at the end of the day, you will need to fall back to basics, dodge, and wait.
Should I buy Star Wars Fallen Order?
Whatever man, it’s free on Game Pass Ultimate via EA Play. You can give it a shot on the cheap, but damn this game was a letdown. I wouldn’t recommend Star Wars Fallen Order but all of my friends do, so what do I know. A sequel is currently in development so I’m already disappointed. How long do we need to ask for another Knights of the Old Republic?
