Fans of Star Trek first heard at San Diego Comic-Con that season two, episode nine of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds would feature a musical episode. This marks the first time a musical episode has been part of the franchise’s history. The “Subspace Rhapsody” episode is a groundbreaking and thrilling addition to the series that premiered tonight.

“Subspace Rhapsody” is a musical extravaganza. It features ten original songs, including a new version of the series’ main title. Talented artists Kay Hanley and Tom Polce crafted the music and lyrics. They are known for their work with Letters to Cleo and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. This musical adventure is a standout episode. It adds a unique and entertaining twist to the already gripping storyline of the U.S.S. Enterprise crew’s exploration of new frontiers, encounters with new life and civilizations, and personal journeys.
