Knuckles Series Starring Idris Elba, Begins Production

Sonic the Hedgehog spin-off series Knuckles is coming to Paramount+.

Today Paramount Pictures and SEGA of America announced that the Knuckles series had begun production in London. It will be the latest entry in the “Cinematic World of Sonic the Hedgehog.” All of the key creative team from the previous films are returning for the series, including Jeff Fowler, the film’s director, who is directing the pilot episode. The series takes place between the films Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and 3, marking the next installment of the hit franchise, which is slated for December 20th, 2024.

Idris Elba will reprise his voice roole as Knuckels. Adam Pally will reprise his role from the film franchise as Wade Whipple. The ensemble includes recurring cast Edi Patterson, Julian Barratt, Scott Mescudi, Ellie Taylor, and guest star Rory McCann. In addition, Tika Sumpter will guest star, reprising her role as Maddie,

Synopsis

The new live-action series will follow Knuckles on a hilarious and action-packed journey of self-discovery as he agrees to train Wade as his protégé and teach him the ways of the Echidna warrior.
