Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs celebrates 85th anniversary.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs came out 85 years ago. The Grimm fairy tale was Disney’s first animated feature. It premiered at the Carthay Circle Theatre on December 21, 1937, and would not be released for home video until 1994. The voice cast features Adriana Caselotti, Harry Stockwell, Lucille La Verne, and Roy Atwell. Its lifetime box-office gross to date is $184,925,486.

Synopsis

Jealous of Snow White’s beauty, the wicked queen orders the murder of her innocent stepdaughter but later discovers that she is still alive and hiding in a cottage with seven friendly little miners. Disguising herself as a hag, the queen brings a poisoned apple to her, who falls into a death-like sleep that can be broken only by a kiss from the prince.
