Snow Day is a musical version of the classic coming to Paramount+.
Nickelodeon Studios has begun production on a Snow Day musical for Paramount+. It is a re-imagining of the 2000 beloved comedy classic film, Snow Day. The film follows a group of kids determined to achieve their dreams when their school closes for a snow day. Production is underway in Montreal, with a premiere slated for later this year on the streaming service.
Siblings Hal (Ky Baldwin, Peter Allen: Not the Boy Next Door) and Natalie Brandston (Michaela Russell, WandaVision) discover that anything is possible on a snow day. When a surprise winter whiteout offers them the chance to break routines, take giant risks and follow their dreams. Inspired to pursue his crush, Claire Bonner (Shelby Simmons, Bunk’d), Hal enlists the help of his best friend, Lane (Fabi Aguirre, “Les Misérables” on Broadway), to help him express his feelings. Natalie decides she must challenge her arch-nemesis, the Snowplowman (Jerry Trainor, iCarly) if she wants to pull off the task of creating a second snow day.
Snow Day also stars Logan Aultman as Eli Welch, Dominic Mariche as Wayne Castle, Myles Erlick as Chuck Wheeler, Monique Jasmine Paul as Rebecca Mendler, Destiny Rettinger as Mason, Lilly Bartlam as Missy, and Viggo Hanvelt as Randy Brandston. Laura Bell Bundy and Rob Huebel star as the Brandston parents, Linda and Tom, respectively.
The original Snow Day, from Nickelodeon and Paramount Pictures, premiered in theaters in 2000. It was a box office success and immediately became an instant favorite for kids. It starred Chris Elliott, Mark Webber, Jean Smart, Chevy Chase, Josh Peck, and Emmanuelle Chriqui.
Lastly, Snow Day for Paramount+ is directed by Emmy Award-winner Michael Lembeck. It is written by Samantha Martin, who also contributed original music to the movie.
