Shotgun Wedding is now streaming on Prime Video.

Shotgun Wedding has Jennifer Lopez finding herself in another nuptial but this time with Josh Duhamel. A star-studded ensemble cast surrounds the duo, including Jennifer Coolidge, Sônia Braga, Cheech Marin, Selena Tan, D’Arcy Carden, Callie Hernandez, Desmin Borges, Steve Coulter, and Lenny Kravitz. The film is directed by Jason Moore, who was behind the Pitch Perfect films.
Synopsis
Darcy (Lopez) and Tom (Duhamel) gather their lovable but opinionated families for the ultimate destination wedding. But the couple begins to get cold feet. And if that wasn’t enough of a threat to the celebration, suddenly everyone’s lives are in danger when the entire party is taken, hostage. “’ Til Death Do Us Part” takes on a new meaning in this hilarious, adrenaline-fueled adventure as Darcy and Tom must save their loved ones—if they don’t kill each other first.
This film is for you if you enjoy romantic comedies sprinkled with a healthy scoop of action like The Lost City. Josh Duhamel, who was recently in Bandit and season 2 of Mighty Ducks Game Changers, puts his comedic chops and undeniable charm on display which will never get any complaints. However, Lopez, the queen of this genre, surprisingly outshines Duhamel, which is extremely hard to do. She is the lead, and Duhamel is just coming along for the ride. But the two have undeniable chemistry on screen.

The rest of the cast offers a lot in the movie and are just not background actors. Coolidge steals every scene she is in, and Lenny Kravitz is a nice surprise. Shotgun Wedding is not the best romantic comedy, but it has a ludicrous plot with plenty of comical moments. With a breezy runtime of just 1 hour and 40 minutes, this is a solid pick offering escapism from the comfort of your couch.
Verdict
I give Shotgun Wedding 3.5 out of 5 stars. It’s an exhilarating and eccentric rom-com set in an exotic location with a cast that will have you in stitches. Read more Reviews on Nerdtropolis and Subscribe to our YouTube.
