Lloyd Morrisett created Sesame Street in 1969.

Lloyd N. Morrisett, the co-founder of Sesame Workshop, formerly Children’s Television Workshop, has passed away. He was 93 years old. The nonprofit organization he co-founded was behind Sesame Street and over 50 years of award-winning television programs. Morrisett received his B.A. at Oberlin College, did graduate work in psychology at U.C.L.A., and earned his Ph.D. in experimental psychology at Yale University.
