Marvel Comics is gearing up to celebrate the 40th anniversary of its iconic crossover event, Secret Wars, which will become the next Avengers film. Battleworld, the upcoming series, promises to take fans on a thrilling journey back to when Marvel’s greatest heroes and villains clashed on Battleworld, courtesy of the all-powerful Beyonder.

The creative team behind this nostalgia-packed adventure is Tom DeFalco. He is a former Marvel Comics editor-in-chief and the original editor of Secret Wars. DeFalco joins forces with acclaimed artist Pat Olliffe to breathe new life into this classic storyline. The series is set to focus on Spider-Man and the Human Torch, delivering a storyline that seamlessly fits between the pages of the original series. Importantly, it explores the period after Spidey acquires his iconic black alien costume, which eventually evolves into the villainous Venom.

For fans of the original Secret Wars, this new series promises to be a treat.

It is filled with familiar moments and the start of a secret mission involving Spidey and the Human Torch. However, it’s not just a nostalgic trip down memory lane; it holds answers to a 40-year-old mystery. It also introduces characters who played surprising roles in the original Secret Wars event. Characters like Baron Zemo, Hobgoblin, Electro, Constrictor, and more make unexpected appearances, shedding light on their involvement in the Battleworld.

“MARVEL SUPER HEROES SECRET WARS: BATTLEWORLD” promises to offer newcomers and long-term fans a captivating and complete story that deepens their understanding of these beloved characters and the stakes involved in this monumental Marvel event. With its in-continuity narrative and connections to the original storyline, this series is a must-read for any Marvel enthusiast. Remember not to miss the first issue when issue #1 arrives on November 22nd.
