SCREAM to become #1 at the Box-Office over MLK Weekend.

Over MLK weekend, SCREAM is expected to knock off Spider-Man: No Way Home from the #1 spot at the box office. With weeks of No Way Home dominating the box office, Ghostface will now take the throne. SCREAM is a “requel” released 11 years after the 4th installment. This is the first SCREAM movie without Wes Craven’s involvement due to his passing. This film is directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. It also brings back original stars Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox, and David Arquette.

On its release date, January 14th, SCREAM took in $13.3 Million(including Thursday Night Preview of $3.5M). Saturday, it saw $10.1M and going into a 4-day holiday weekend, it is expected to accumulate $36M at 3,664 theaters. This movie had a budget of $24 Million.

Synopsis

Twenty-five years after a streak of brutal murders shocked the quiet town of Woodsboro, a new killer has donned the Ghostface mask and begins targeting a group of teenagers to resurrect secrets from the town’s deadly past.
