Road House Remake Begins Production

Jake Gyllenhaal shares the first-look at Road House remake.

Academy Award-nominated actor Jake Gyllenhaal has begun filming the remake of Road House for Prime Video. It is a reimagined take on the 1989 MGM movie which starred Patrick Swayze. Director Doug Liman will helm the film, known for The Bourne Identity and Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Joel Silver, who was behind The Matrix and Die Hard) is producing for his company, Silver Pictures. In the 1original film, Swayze plays the lead character, Dalton. The new take follows a former UFC fighter (Gyllenhaal) who takes a job as a bouncer at a rough-and-tumble roadhouse in the Florida Keys but soon discovers that not everything is what it seems in this tropical paradise.

The cast of Road House also includes Billy Magnussen, Daniela Melchior, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Lukas Gage, Hannah Love Lanier, Travis Van Winkle, B.K. Cannon, Arturo Castro, Dominique Columbus, Beau Knapp, and Bob Menery. Additional cast includes Joaquim De Almeida, Darren Barnet, Kevin Carroll & JD Pardo. The Amazon Original Movie has begun production in the Dominican Republic.
