Quantum Leap series coming to NBC this month!
The 1990’s popular sci-fi series Quantum Leap is getting a continuation series from NBC. Ernie Hudson will play alongside the lead Raymond Lee in the brand-new series. It is set in the present time. Lee will play Dr. Ben Seong. He is a world-renowned physicist working on a time-travel project who gets stuck in the late 1980s with amnesia after using the technology. Hudson will portray Herbert “Magic” Williams. He is a Vietnam veteran and head of the time travel project at Quantum Leap. Using a bit of politicking and his military know-how to keep the Pentagon at bay, Magic buys the team some time to rescue Ben but expects answers once he’s back. Quantum Leap premieres Monday, September 19 at 10/9c on NBC, streaming the next day on Peacock. Watch the trailer below!
Synopsis
It’s been nearly 30 years since Dr. Sam Beckett stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator and vanished. Now, a new team, led by physicist Ben Song (Raymond Lee), has plans to restart the project. They hope to understand the mysteries behind the machine and the man who created it. However, when Ben makes an unauthorized leap into the past, it leaves the team behind to solve the mystery of why he did it. At Ben’s side throughout his leaps is Addison (Caitlin Bassett). She appears as a hologram only Ben can see and hear. Addison is a decorated Army veteran who brings level-headed precision to her job.
Herbert “Magic” Williams (Ernie Hudson) is at the helm of the highly confidential operation. He is a no-nonsense career military man who has to answer to his bosses who won’t be happy once they learn about the breach of protocol. The rest of the team at headquarters includes Ian Wright (Mason Alexander Park), who runs the Artificial Intelligence unit “Ziggy,” and Jenn Chou (Nanrisa Lee), who heads up digital security for the project. As Ben leaps from life to life, putting right what once went wrong, it becomes clear that he and the team are on a thrilling journey. However, Addison, Magic, Ian, and Jenn know that if they are going to solve the mystery of Ben’s leap and bring him home, they must act fast or lose him forever.
