Poltergeist is coming to 4K UHD on September 20th.
Poltergeist was released 40 years ago on June 4th, 1980. It is a horror classic by director Tobe Hooper. He is best known for the Texas Chainsaw Massacre films. The film’s producer and screenwriter was none other than Steven Spielberg. The film starred Heather O’Rourke JoBeth Williams, Dominique Dunne, Zelda Rubinstein, and Craig T. Nelson. Poltergeist will celebrate its 40th anniversary with a special 4K UHD pack releasing September 20th.
Synopsis
Strange and creepy happenings beset an average California family, the Freelings — Steve (Craig T. Nelson), Diane (JoBeth Williams), teenaged Dana (Dominique Dunne), eight-year-old Robbie (Oliver Robins), and five-year-old Carol Ann (Heather O’Rourke) — when ghosts commune with them through the television set. Initially friendly and playful, the spirits turn unexpectedly menacing, and, when Carol Ann goes missing, Steve and Diane turn to a parapsychologist and eventually an exorcist for help.
