Soul puts Pixar back on track
Pixar had a rough start to 2020 with the lackluster Onward but their new film Soul makes up for that. For decades they have produced many memorable movies and Soul is now in that company. Soul is the latest film to skip theaters and head to digital via Disney+ but this time it won’t cost subscribers a dime. You can watch Pixar’s Soul on Disney+ at no additional cost.

Synopsis
Soul introduces Joe Gardner voiced by Jamie Foxx who is a middle-school band teacher with a passion for jazz. When he’s offered a rare, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play with one of the greats, Joe feels he’s reached the top of the ultimate mountain. But one small misstep takes him from the streets of New York City to The Great Before, which is a fantastical place where new souls get their personalities, quirks, and interests before they go to Earth.
This movie is perfect for all ages, and adults will really appreciate the story and message. I know I connected a lot with this movie, and I am certain you will too. For a film that revolves around death, it is a bright, and colorful movie that brings forward interesting ideas, and philosophies about life itself. Jamie Foxx breaths great emotion and heart into the main character Joe which is no surprise at all. The animation and music throughout are beautiful and visually stunning. There are so many lessons to be learned throughout this movie and you will definitely feel a range of emotions. This movie has such a rich and heartwarming story, that it seems that Pixar has finally returned to their classic roots.
Verdict
I give Pixar’s Soul a 9/10 as it is the perfect movie to cap off the crazy year that the world has had. I just hope Pixar’s next movie is just a strong as this film.
