OSCARS 2022 Nominations List Has Some Surprising Omissions

The OSCARS nominations have been revealed with a few fan favorites missing.

OSCARS 2022 Nominations List

The 94th ACADEMY AWARDS has released its 2022 OSCARS Nominations. It will take place Sunday, March 27, 2022, honoring movies released in 2021. Despite Dune getting 10 nominations, Director Denis Villeneuve gets snubbed. Spider-Man: No Way Home also got snubbed with only one nomination for Visual Effects despite being the biggest film of 2021.

Notable OSCARS nominations:

Jane Campion is the 1st woman to be nominated for best director twice. She was first nominated in 1994 for The Piano and now for The Power of the Dog. Kenneth Branagh is the first person to be nominated in seven different categories. In addition, Kristen Stewart and Kirsten Dunst receive their first Oscar nominations. Beyoncé gets her first Oscar nomination. The Power of the Dog gets 12 nominations, with Dune right behind 10 nominations. Real-life couple Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons score their first Oscar nominations this year for The Power of the Dog. Another couple, Penélope Cruz (Parallel Mothers) and Javier Bardem (Being the Ricardos), are also nominated this year.
