Friday The 13th Movie Teased At New Line Cinema

Friday the 13th movie announcement is imminent after a cryptic post.

New Line Cinema shared a cryptic post featuring an incoming message from Friday the 13th’s Jason Voorhees. The creator of the franchise Sean Cunningham, also stated, “The movie has spawned 12 installments with a 13th scheduled for next year, ” about an upcoming installment on his Cameo page but later took it down. With Friday the 13th returning to our calendars in October of 2023, a new film will be officially announced soon. Below is the post from the movie studios for their Instagram about a possible movie announcement.

Friday the 13th made its debut in 1980, which gave birth to the slasher franchise, spawning twelve films. The first film did not even feature Jason but instead his manic mother. It starred Kevin Bacon, Adrienne King, Harry Crosby, Jeannine Taylor, and Mark Nelson.

Crystal Lake’s history of murder doesn’t deter counselors from setting up a summer camp in the woodsy area. Superstitious locals warn against it, but the fresh-faced young people pay little heed to the old-timers. Then they find themselves stalked by a brutal killer. The counselors struggle to stay alive against a merciless opponent as they’re slashed, shot, and stabbed.

After a 9th film that debuted in 1993, the franchise took a hiatus. IT would not be until 2002 when the Friday the 13th Franchise sent the iconic killer to space in Jason X. The following year fans would get the ultimate crossover with Freddy vs Jason. In 2009 a soft reboot of the film hit theaters which took elements from the first four films.
