MaXXXine First Look Features Mia Goth, Halsey

MaXXXine brings back Mia Goth to conclude the trilogy.

A24 has released a new look at the upcoming movie Maxxxine. The movie, directed by TI West, stars Mia Goth and Halsey. It is expected to hit theaters in 2024. The TI West trilogy, comprised of the films “X,” “Pearl,” and “Maxxxine,” features rising star Mia Goth in three captivating and unsettling roles. Directed by acclaimed indie horror filmmaker Ti West, the trilogy explores different facets of horror and suspense while maintaining a consistent aesthetic and tone. Maxxine concludes the trilogy, which follows Goth’s character, Maxine, who moves to Los Angeles in the early 1980s to pursue her dreams of becoming a famous actress.

In “X,” a group of actors set out to make an adult film in rural Texas under the noses of their reclusive hosts. Still, when the elderly couple catches their young guests in the act, the cast desperately fights for their lives.

In Pearl, which serves as the origin story, Goth is trapped on an isolated farm; Pearl must tend to her ailing father under her mother’s watch. Lusting for the glamorous life she has seen in movies, Pearl’s temptations and repressions collide.

Finally, in “Maxxxine,” Goth plays the titular character, a porn star embroiled in a dark and violent underworld. When Maxxxine’s friend and co-star goes missing, she sets out on a dangerous journey to uncover the truth, leading her down a path of drugs, sex, and violence.

Kevin Bacon, Elizabeth Debicki, Lily Collins, Bobby Cannavale, Giancarlo Esposito, Moses Sumney, and Michelle Monaghan join the cast.

West employs a distinctive visual style throughout the trilogy, using long takes, natural lighting, and immersive sound design to create a sense of unease and tension. Each film also features strong performances from the entire cast, with Goth, in particular, standing out as a versatile and captivating lead. While each film in the trilogy is a compelling horror story, they form a cohesive and impactful exploration of fear, power, and survival. Read more News on Nerdtropolis and subscribe to our YouTube.
