Madeline “Matty” Matlock is a brilliant septuagenarian. She succeeded in her younger years and has decided to rejoin the workforce at a prestigious law firm where she uses her unassuming demeanor and wily tactics to win cases. Matty is assigned to Olympia (Skye P. Marshall). She is a senior attorney and key rainmaker thirsty for justice. Olympia’s ex-husband, Julian (Jason Ritter), the son of the head of the firm, is intrigued by Matty and her clever skills. As Matty endeavors to establish herself in her new high-stakes world, she works alongside the firm’s younger associates – the charismatic Billy (David Del Rio) and the uber-ambitious Sarah (Leah Lewis).

The original Matlock aired from 1986 to 1995. The show centers around Ben Matlock. He is a folksy and shrewd defense attorney from Atlanta, Georgia, who solves criminal cases with intellect and legal expertise. The talented Andy Griffith played the show’s main character, Ben Matlock. Matlock’s signature was his Southern charm and ability to outwit even the most cunning criminals. He often wore a seersucker suit and drove around in his signature Ford Crown Victoria.

Matlock had guest stars, with many well-known actors appearing throughout the series.

The series was unique in not relying on flashy special effects or dramatic action sequences. Instead, it focused on the legal system’s intricacies and the courtroom’s inner workings. Matlock was known for his unorthodox methods of defending his clients. He was often using tricks and sleight of hand to prove their innocence. The show’s success can be attributed to its engaging characters, compelling storylines, and strong performances. Matlock’s supporting cast included Linda Purl as his daughter Charlene Matlock, Kene Holliday as his private investigator Tyler Hudson, and Nancy Stafford as his assistant Michelle Thomas. Each character brought a unique perspective to the cases, helping to keep the show fresh and interesting.
