La Bamba star Lou Diamond Phillips added to Comicpalooza lineup.

Actor Lou Diamond Phillips is the latest guest added to the Comicpalooza lineup. Previously announced was William Shatner, and now the La Bamba star will join Shatner in Houston. Phillips rose to popularity in the 1980s and early 1990s. He began acting on stage and appeared in several Off-Broadway productions before transitioning to film and television. In 1987, he starred as Ritchie Valens in the biopic “La Bamba,” which was a critical and commercial success.
Phillips went on to star in several popular films in the 1990s, including “Young Guns,” “Courage Under Fire,” and “The Big Hit.” He has also made numerous television appearances, including in “Longmire” and “Prodigal Son.” Last year, Phillips appeared in the Jay Chandrasekhar-directed comedy Easter Sunday, starring Joy Koy.

In addition to his acting career, Phillips has also worked as a director, producer, and writer. He directed and starred in the film “Sioux City” and directed episodes of the series “Resurrection Blvd.” and “Numb3rs.” Phillips has received several awards and nominations for his work, including a Golden Globe nomination for his role in “Stand and Deliver.” He has also been involved in various charitable causes, including organizations that support Native American communities and children’s hospitals.
