Lightyear Fails To Blast Off Past Jurassic World Dominion

Lightyear struggles to open at the top spot at the box office.

Disney and Pixar’s Lightyear opened up in theaters this weekend. The Buzz Lightyear film stars Chris Evans as the iconic Space Ranger. Lightyear only opened up globally during Father’s Day weekend with $85,600,000. Its domestic pull was just $51 Million, which was good enough for second place. However, Jurassic World Dominion, now on its second weekend, remains in the top spot. It brought in $58,660,000 domestically and currently sits at a worldwide total of $622,186,690. Synopsis

Legendary space ranger Buzz Lightyear embarks on an intergalactic adventure alongside ambitious recruits Izzy, Mo, Darby, and his robot companion, Sox. As this motley crew tackles their most challenging mission, they must learn to work together as a team to escape the evil Zurg and his loyal robot army that is never far behind.
