Matlock Reboot Casts Kathy Bates In Lead Role

Matlock returns to television after 30 years.

Matlock is returning to our televisions. Variety has reported that the 80s series will return with a twist. CBS has ordered a pilot for the series, which will make some changes. The lead character Andy Griffith originally played, will be swapped for a female played by Kathy Bates. She will also be an executive producer for the show. It has been mentioned that her character will have ties to the original character on the show that aired from 1986 to 1995.


After achieving success in her younger years, the brilliant septuagenarian Madeline Matlock (Bates) rejoins the workforce at a prestigious law firm. She uses her unassuming demeanor and wily tactics to win cases and expose corruption from within. Based on the classic television series of the same name.
