In a grand reunion that felt like a trip down memory lane, the Nerdtropolis community gathered on Tuesday night for the first-ever meetup, collaborating with LegionM and Fathom Events for a special screening of “Jay and Silent Bob Reboot.” With 20 enthusiastic citizens of Nerdtropolis in tow, the evening promised a blend of laughter, camaraderie, and a generous dose of Kevin Smith’s signature humor. Even before the curtains rose, the anticipation was heightened as I received a special package from none other than Kevin Smith himself. Chronic Con badges and lanyards featuring the iconic Blunt-Man and Chronic adorned us as we eagerly ventured into the cinematic world crafted by the legendary filmmaker.
A cross-country mission with a dash of nostalgia.
The film unfolds as Jay and Silent Bob set out on a cross-country mission. They are on the way to stop Hollywood’s attempt to reboot a film based on their unconventional lives. For those unfamiliar with Kevin Smith’s extensive filmography, this may not be your cinematic experience. However, for avid Kevin Smith fans who have been on this cinematic journey since the early ’90s, “Jay and Silent Bob Reboot” is a delightful trip down memory lane.
A movie tailored for fans.
Crafted with the fans in mind, the film is a mosaic of nostalgia, revisiting the essence of Smith’s career. The cast is peppered with surprising and expected cameos. The film features Matt Damon, Shannon Elizabeth, Ben Affleck, Jason Lee, Rosario Dawson, Jason Biggs, James Van-Der-Beek, Craig Robinson, Val Kilmer, and more.
