Jason David Frank has sadly passed away. After his trainer, Mike Bronzoulis posted about his passing on Facebook, a frenzy occurred on the internet. Fans were trying to figure out if this was true or not. Unfortunately, we can now confirm via Instagram Posts from MMPR Black Ranger Water E. Jones and Turbo Blue Ranger, Black Foster, that Frank has died at age 49. TMZ has also confirmed that Frank took his own life. The actor, martial artist, and retired mixed martial artist from California had his big break after becoming the iconic green ranger on the hit series Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. The upcoming year will be the 30th anniversary of the series when Frank was set to debut the Legend of the White Dragon movie.
JDF joined Power Rangers in 1993.
Frank portrayed the iconic Tommy Oliver in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Power Rangers Zeo, Power Rangers Turbo, and Power Rangers Dino Thunder. he has the most episodic appearances in Power Rangers. In addition to being the Green Ranger, he has been the White Ranger, Red Zeo Ranger, and Black Dino Thunder Ranger.
JDF was my childhood hero who inspired me to get my black belt. Over the last several years, I spent time with him in Houston, where he made his home. He always made sure his fans knew how much he appreciated them. I felt that from him during the numerous times he and I spent together. Unfortunately, November has been tough for the children that were a product of the 90s with the passing of Kevin Conroy, the definite batman of our generation passing as well. Frank will always be my definitive Power Ranger hero. RIP Friend.
