James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad will be in theaters and on HBO Max August 6th 2021

The first trailer for James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad is finally here! And it’s as violent, obscene, and hilarious as we’ve been hoping! The visionary director and writer behind Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy films will make the jump to DC with this R-Rated soft reboot of 2016’s Suicide Squad.
Academy Award winner Viola Davis returns as Amanda Waller, the morally bankrupt ARGUS agent. She runs Task Force X, the secret government program that forces imprisoned supervillains to complete dangerous mentions under threat of death.
Original Task Force X members Harley Quinn (Academy Award nominee Margot Robbie), Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman), and Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang) are joined by an impressive roster of newcomers, including Bloodsport (Idris Elba), Peacemaker (John Cena), Savant (Guardians of the Galaxy’s Michael Rooker), Blackguard (SNL’s Pete Davidson), Polka-Dot Man (Ant-Man’s David Dastmalchian), and King Shark (voiced by Sylvester Stallone).
DC’s The Suicide Squad opens in theaters and on HBO Max on August 6! The film will be followed by an HBO Max spin-off Peacemaker, with John Cena reprising the titular role.
