The story revolves around Jessica (played by DeWanda Wise), who moves her family to her childhood home. Alice’s playful interactions with her stuffed bear, Chauncey, throughout the film turn into increasingly malevolent games, taking the audience on a psychological rollercoaster. As Jessica becomes more concerned about her stepdaughter’s behavior, she realizes that Chauncey is not an ordinary stuffed bear. He possesses a malevolence that goes beyond what one can imagine.
