House of the Dragon renewed for the second season.

House of the Dragon’s first episode drew in 10 million viewers in the U.S. Sunday night. Globally the viewer total is 20 million. That was the largest audience for any new original series in the history of HBO. With that milestone, HBO has announced that House of the Dragon will get a season 2. The series is based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood. The series is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones and tells the story of House Targaryen. The ten-episode HBO Original drama series began on HBO and HBO Max last Sunday. The series stars Paddy Considine, Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best, Fabien Frankel, Sonoya Mizuno, and Rhys Ifans.
