The Hot Wheels Legends Tour features the most awe-inspiring garage builds from across the world. It is an event where one lucky fan car will move on in the competition for a chance to become a Hot Wheels 1:64 die-cast toy. During the Houston stop, I was one of the event’s judges. I worked alongside rapper Trae Tha Truth and Bryan Benedict, the Design Director of Hot Wheels and Matchbox Die-casts in selecting the Houston winner.

The winner of the Houston event is Michael Tran. He will have a chance to have his fully customized 2007 Corvette become the next Garage of Legends inductee. In addition, the finale winner will have their vehicle made into a 1:64 Hot Wheels die-cast toy sold around the world.

The Houston-winning “Soo Sik C6” Corvette started life as a factory 2007 Corvette. It is now anything BUT. In true garage spirit, Michael Tran, a Houston-native, custom fabricated an entirely new body AND interior for his C6 Corvette. The only original components remaining are the frame and the engine. It makes roughly 1,000 horsepower thanks to a pair of rear-mounted turbos. Having built custom cars since 1998, Tran also fitted the “Soo Sik C6” with custom wheels, exhaust, and a one-of-a-kind headlight design to complete the vehicle’s winning looks.
