GUMBY Has Been Acquired By FOX

FOX Entertainment buys iconic GUMBY IP.

FOX Entertainment has acquired the iconic animated character Gumby and all his friends. The purchase was made from the estate of Joseph Clokey, son of creator Art Clokey. FOX Entertainment a television production company owned by Fox Corporation, has obtained all rights to the popular franchise. That includes film, television and streaming, consumer products, licensing, publishing, and other categories. In addition, FOX has acquired the entire library of the animated series, specials, movies, and content, which will expand Tubi’s current franchise offerings.

FOX will be making a new animated series as well as live-action content. The Howdy Doody Show in 1955 introduced us to GUMBY and in 1956, he got his own show. It aired in syndication from 1960 to 1968. Gumby Adventures aired in syndication in 1988, and Gumby: The Movie was released in 1995.
