Gemini Man – Movie Review (Spoiler Free)

Gemini Man was in development for 20 years.

The Fresh Prince adds another action flick to his resume. This time with the help of accomplished director Ang Lee. Lee is best known for Crouching Tiger Hidden Tiger, Eric Bana’s Hulk, Brokeback Mountain, and Life of Pi. You won’t hear me complaining about Will Smith’s acting. I enjoy everything he is in regardless of the end product. Watching him on the big screen or making funny videos on his social media is always a joy. With both star and director carrying a solid resume, Gemini Man has to be a bulletproof masterpiece.

Synopsis

Gemini Man Gemini Man is an innovative action-thriller. It stars Will Smith as Henry Brogan. He is an elite assassin who is suddenly targeted and pursued by a mysterious young operative that seemingly can predict his every move. The film is directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Ang Lee and produced by renowned producer Jerry Bruckheimer.

Despite having an exciting concept, the plot is too generic and cliche. The action scenes are great at times. Unfortunately, they were distracting most of the time. It was hard to look past the unpolished CGI accompanied by an ultra-high frame rate, which makes everything look strange. I don’t understand where the ball was dropped. This movie with such a talented cast and crew should have come out as a masterpiece. Instead, sitting close to 2 hours long, this movie is drawn to an ending that leaves us with more questions than answers.

Verdict

I give Gemini Man a 5 out of 10. If you just feel like watching a movie starring Will Smith then skip this one and go straight to Bad Boys For Life. Read more Reviews on Nerdtropolis and Subscribe to our YouTube.
