Gargoyles Getting Live-Action Movie By Kenneth Branagh

Gargoyles aired from 1994 to 1997.

The hometime publication of Kenneth Branagh, the Belfast Telegraph, has shared the news that he will bring the animated Gargoyles series to the big screen. The Oscar-winning director is known for helming Thor, Disney’s live-action remake of Cinderella, and Murder on the Orient Express, along with its sequels. Gargoyles is an animated series from the 90s that aired on Fox Kids. The series had an outstanding voice cast that brought its unforgettable characters to life.

Transported from medieval Scotland, the gargoyles spend a thousand years in a petrified state. One day they are reawakened in modern-day New York City, where they take on the role of secret night-time protectors. Keith David played the lead role of Goliath, a noble gargoyle with a deep, commanding voice. Salli Richardson-Whitfield portrayed the intelligent and resourceful detective Elisa Maza, who formed a strong bond with the gargoyles. Ed Asner played Hudson. He is the wise and grizzled elder of the clan, and Jeff Bennett plays Brooklyn, who is youthful and adventurous.
