Free Guy starring Ryan Reynolds and Lil Rel Howery is the 2021 Comedy of the Year!
The Citizens of Nerdtropolis have decided which this year movie was the best comedy. The 2021 Comedy of the Year is non-other than Free Guy! Ryan Reynolds and Lil Rel are great comedic duo which is why this movie is hilarious and fun! The rest of the cast is fantastic which features Jodie Comer, Joe Keery, and Taika Waititi. The cameos are brilliant which includes Alex Trebek, The Rock Hugh Jackman, Chris Evans, and Channing Tatum. On Rotten Tomatoes, Free Guy sits 80% Fresh from Critics and 94% from the Audience. It currently has a box-office total of $331,494,740.
Free Guy is Grand Theft Auto meets Ready Player One! It is about a bank teller who discovers he is actually a background player in an open-world video game, decides to become the hero of his own story…one he rewrites himself. Now in a world where there are no limits, he is determined to be the guy who saves his world his way… before it is too late.
As the Mayor of Nertropolis, I presented the award to Lil Rel after his hilarious performance at the Houston Improv. Lil Rel has been killing it this year with tons of movie roles. He has been in Tom & Jerry, Space Jam: A New Legacy, Vacation Friends, Fatherhood, Bad Trip, Judas, and The Black Messiah and coming soon to theaters National Champions. He has been entertaining the world non-stop with his talents, and we have been following his impressive career closely. We definitely look forward to all his future projects.
