Fear Street Part 1: 1994 Is Going To Shock You

Fear Street is an upcoming Netflix trilogy based on the book series of the same name by R.L. Stine.

Fear Street is broken into three parts, each coming out weekly. Part I: 1994 (July 2), Part II: 1978 (July 9), and Part III: 1666 (July 16). I have been looking forward to this trilogy since the original trailer dropped months ago. Being a huge horror fan, this seemed right up my alley. With stars like Sadie Sink & Maya Hawke, Netflix really wanted to go after the Stranger Things fans!

I remember reading Fear Street when I was younger and having chills down my back with every page. R.L. Stine really knows how to bring the fear! All three movies take place in a small town in different eras called Shadyside, known for its past tragedies.

Synopsis

In 1994, a group of teenagers discover that the terrifying events that have haunted their town for generations may all be connected — and that they may be the next targets. Based on R.L. Stine’s best selling horror series, the trilogy follows the nightmare through Shadyside’s sinister history.

Fear Street is a must-see for horror fans.

It brings a storyline filled with chills, gore, and even nostalgia! I was on the edge of my seat the entire movie. This film reminded me of 2019’s lackluster “Scary Stories to Tell In the Dark,” but with a hard and intense R-rating. The back story of the characters was lacking, and some holes needed to be filled, which I assume the future installments will cover. The acting is over the top, but that is fine since the movie is totally 90’s, making it fun. Still, it is an excellent start to the trilogy. There were a lot of unique ways that the victims died. This first chapter did not skip out on the blood, graphic killing, and gruesome scenes.

Verdict

I give Fear Street Part 1: 1994 an 8 out of 10. This movie will be enjoyable to all fans of Horror! I am really looking forward to Part 2 & 3.
