Fawlty Towers Series Returning With John Cleese

Fawlty Towers revival series announced.

Deadline is reporting that John Cleese will return for a Fawlty Towers revival series. The British comedy aired for two seasons between 1975-1979. The new series will explore how Cleese’s over-the-top, cynical, and misanthropic Basil Fawlty navigates the modern world. Fawlty discovers he has a daughter, played by CLeese’s real-life daughter Camilla, as the pair tempt fate and team up to run a boutique hotel. Rob Reiner’s Castle Rock is involved with the series revival.

Synopsis

A hotel by the sea is run by a stressed and moronic lunatic who can’t seem to please his guests, has a shaky marriage with a cruel and self-centered woman, and a Spanish porter who can barely speak English. Fortunately, he has an intelligent and attractive maid to help him escape the various situations he gets into.
