F9 Is A Fast & Furious Movie That Goes Back To Its Roots

F9 is the latest Fast & Furious installment coming to theaters June 25th 2021!

F9 Fast & Furious Movie Review

F9 is the ninth chapter in the Fast & Furious Saga, which has endured for two decades and has earned more than $5 billion worldwide. I had the opportunity to attend a red carpet event for Regal’s newest state-of-the-art theaters just outside Houston, Texas. This ribbon-cutting event featured an appearance by Fast & Furious star Tyrese Gibson and an early screening of F9. The Fast Saga is supposed to end after number 11, but I just do not see that happening at all.

F9 Synopsis

Vin Diesel’s Dom Toretto is leading a quiet life off the grid with Letty and his son, little Brian, but they know that danger always lurks just over their peaceful horizon. This time, that threat will force Dom to confront the sins of his past if he’s going to save those he loves most. His crew joins together to stop a world-shattering plot led by the most skilled assassin and high-performance driver they’ve ever encountered: a man who also happens to be Dom’s forsaken brother, Jakob played by John Cena.

F9 is a Fast & Furious Saga sequel and prequel wrapped into one. We finally get a look into Dom’s past and the first family that he ever had. This movie jumps pretty quick into the action as it thrusts you into 2 and half hours of ridiculousness. Even though I have loved this franchise since the first film, it was always hard for me to enjoy the recent sequels due to how bloated and long they were. But the latest chapter found a balance between drama, humor, and action. I really enjoyed that this franchise finally admits how off the wall these movies are. They touch on the fact that they continuously survive so much mind-blowing action without a scratch. This movie raises the bar for horsepower, explosions, crazy stunts, and death-defying action scenes.

The Fast Saga has always been about fast cars.

This time around, there were some really incredible builds that my inner car enthusiasts drooled over. The plot is what you expect it to be, with some minor twists and turns. Compared to its predecessors, the story is an improvement. The return of Han played Sung Kang will excite fans. And lovers of Tokyo Drift will be satisfied as that storyline comes full circle. New addition John Cena surprisingly works for this franchise and now excites me for his role in The Suicide Squad. The return of Director Justin Lin is what this franchise needed as he knows the heart and soul of these films.

Verdict

I give F9 an 8 out of 10. I look forward to seeing the final box-office numbers for one of the best installments of the Fast Saga. Get ready for spectacular “car-nage” that can only be seen on the big screen! Also do not forget to stay for an after credit scene!!
