Star Wars Celebration announces Daisy Ridley’s return to the franchise.
During Star Wars Celebration 2023, Kathleen Kennedy took to the stage for some big announcements, including the return of Daisy Ridley as Rey. Three Star Wars movies are developing, with one featuring Rey from the Star Wars trilogy. It will pick up 15 years after The Rise of Skywalker. She will be a Jedi Master building a new Jedi Order. Academy Award- and Emmy Award-winning director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy will direct. She is best known for Ms. Marvel and Saving Face.
One of the other films is a Dave Filoni-directed story that focuses on the New Republic. It will close out the interconnected stories in The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett. James Mangold, who is helming Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, will direct a Star Wars movie that will go to the dawn of the Jedi.
