Keanu Reeves returning as John Constantine.

Keanu Reeves will e returning as Constantine. Variety has confirmed this news with Warner Bros. The 2005 film is the first time we saw Reeves as the supernatural DC character. The sequel will bring back original director Francis Lawrence who is currently helming the Hunger Games prequel. Previously the HBO Max Constantine series from J.J. Abrams’s Bad Robot Productions was in the works, but that got scrapped. In the comics, John Constantine is a notorious con man and grifter whose past has a body count. His moral compass is as gray as can be. He’s an expert sorcerer and magician but also an accomplished liar and thief known for his vices, self-loathing and on-again-off-again death wish. His abilities have allowed him not only to cheat death but to trick the forces that govern Heaven and Hell.
Synopsis
As a suicide survivor, demon hunter John Constantine (Keanu Reeves) has been to hell and back — and he knows that when he dies, he’s got a one-way ticket to Satan’s realm unless he can earn enough goodwill to climb God’s stairway to heaven. While helping policewoman Angela Dodson (Rachel Weisz) investigate her identical twin’s apparent suicide, Constantine becomes caught up in a supernatural plot involving both demonic and angelic forces.
