Cloverfield universe is expanding with a fourth film.
Paramount Pictures will be making another Cloverfield movie. Deadline reported that Babak Anvari would be the film’s Director. Anvari made his feature film debut with Netflix’s I Came By. Since 2008 there have been 3 Cloverfield films. No word yet on how the fourth film will tie into its predecessors. Joe Barton is writing the script, and J.J. Abrams is producing from Bad Robot. The first sequel, 10 Cloverfield Lane starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead and John Goodman, came out in 2016. In 2018 it was followed by The Cloverfield Paradox, a Netflix film.
Original Synopsis
As a group of New Yorkers enjoys a going-away party, little do they know that they will soon face the most terrifying night of their lives. A creature the size of a skyscraper descends upon the city, leaving death and destruction in its wake. The friends use a handheld video camera to record their struggle to survive as New York crumbles around them.
