Casper, everyone’s favorite ghost, is getting a new series. Peacock is developing a live-action horror/adventure series with writer and executive producer Kai Yu Wu. She wrote for NBC’s Hannibal, The Flash at CW, and she created the Netflix series The Ghost Bride. Casper was an animated show in the 40s and 50s. It later became a comic book and spawned multiple animated projects throughout the decades. Then, finally, in 1995, a feature film starring Christina Ricci, Bill Pullman, and Devon Sawa. The new series is a coming-of-age story that explores what it means to be alive. When a new family arrives in the small town of Eternal Falls, Casper finds himself entangled in a mystery uncovering dark secrets that have been buried for over 100 years.

1995 Film Synopsis

Casper is a kind young ghost who peacefully haunts a mansion in Maine. However, when specialist James Harvey arrives to communicate with the fellow spirits, he brings his teenage daughter, Kat. Casper quickly falls in love with Kat. However, their budding relationship is complicated by his transparent state and his troublemaking apparition uncles and their mischievous antics.
